Final coil is proud to announce that yet more online resources have been added. You can now download (for FREE) the Crackcancer EP (Pip's first band after Endora) and Fud-u-like (Pip, Rich and Martin's metal side project) from Lastfm (the link will be posted on the links page shortly) as well as stream the last two Final Coil releases. Anyone who wishes to own the new Final Coil ep can buy it by clicking on the Shop tag. There is also a new site (without pop ups I'm happy to say) at http://www.finalcoil.altpro.net/ - it's not finished yet, but it does have music and some photos, as well as a band biography. There is also (Pip's been busy) a showcase site - (link to follow) and demos available at Myspace and Lastfm.

In further news, Pip is trying to recruit a temporary Polish band to play some concertstowards the summer AND he is working on a bunch of new songs to augment those already written for the new ep (So far the band has to choose from: "left like this, caught out, honesty, Goodbye to all that, balls, pop song (yes that old chestnut again) and anger management" - Pip is remaining quiet about what songs are to be chosen although it seems likely that the band will narrow the list down to five songs including the new ones Pip is working on now). If you do go to last fm or any other site do please leave feedback s it is your online support that keeps this band alive.

10/10/2006: disaster Gig!

Final Coil played the first Polish gig on Friday Oct 6th. It was bad! However, it must be stressed that (for once) this was not the fault of the band. Let down by the most appalling "sound crew" it has ever been our misfortune to encounter we were hampered by on-stage sound turning on and off, guitars being removed from the mix, broken mics and more. Pip would like to apologise personally to everyone who came to see us and to state that we will be playing a gig soon to make up for the debacle. The band would also like to make clear that for the next gig they will make sure that the venue has adequate facilities (the stage in kielce had 2 mic stands and no amps) and proper technicians rather than the untrained dick heads we had to deal with. The only high points were In flames, Fallen and Pop song (at the end of which a few mic stands may "accidentally have been damaged - HA) by which time the sound had been worked out as much as it was going to be. Pictures of the fateful event can be seen by clicking on the new photo page on the left.

Final Coil are confirmed as playing Kielce on October 6th. Sadly the English members of Final Coil are, well,in England so Pip has recruited Tomek from Metanoia (Bass and guitar) and Dorota from The Moron (Bass) for a short set. The track listing is as follows: Angels, Feeble Minds (both solo, acoustic), Grunge, Retrospective and Rehab (with Tomek), Intro, Endgame, In Flames, Fallen and Pop song (with Tomek and Dorota).  We hope to put on a good show and there will be photos of the event posted as soon after as possible.

The Final Coil download shop is now OPEN - to download tracks from the ep (2 available so far) and from our first album (Endless Lack Of Reason) go to www.msoundz.com and search for Final Coil : Each track is £1 at the mo but we hope to make this cheaper as we go along. This is our first shop so stay with us and we'll get everything rolling. The current pricing means that the new ep (over 30 mins of new music) will cost you £5 and artwork will be here soon for you to download for free....

With pip now back in Poland Final Coil are still editing the Ep (as yet untitled). However, a sample track is now on www.myspace.com/finalcoil and while it is not available for download (sorry but we are trying to sell this one) you can listen to it as much as you want. Of course the myspace page will continue to provide free-to-download demo tracks and old songs - it is only the pro recordings that will be priced downloads.

Final Coil completed their second studio album last week and it is due to be on the internet as soon as the segue tracks (courtesy of J and Nikki) have been edited into the final mix. Look below for a more detailed report on events.

As you can see, the site is undergoing a huge overhaul having been left to its own devices far too much last year. We hope to add new pictures, sound and update the news regularly from now on. On the 'contact us' page you can find details how to get in touch and make suggestions.

Pip is set to return to Poland one last time. That means that from next year Final Coil will be an active band once more and probably based in Brighton. The band will be looking for a drummer and a bassist around June. Until then Pip is looking around for any chance to play acoustic. News on that as and when.

18/07/2006 NEWS: Pip played a storming set in Swanage football club last week and followed this up with an appearance at Harrow House Bar on monday. Another acoustic set (solo again) Pip played a selection of covers (Levellers : Elation / 15 years, NIN : Hurt, Alice In Chains : Brother amongst others) as well as hyper fast versions of Fallen, Intro, Retrospective, Feeble Minds and a few others.

11/07/2006 NEWS: At last - some news from the Final Coil camp!! Pip is back in England and playing a 40 minute solo acoustic gig at Swanage Football club. The set list will be a mix of covers (Levellers, Pear Jam Alice In Chains and Feeder) and acoustic versions of songs from Endless Lack Of Reason (Retrospective, fallen, In Flames, Intro, Feeble Minds) as well as the odd Metanoia track. It is also likely that at least one concert will take place in the summer (Martin, J and Rich are all confirmed to return to the fold) or failing that a new ep (a demo version - "Downer" is already completed with one track available to download FREE at www.myspace.com/finalcoil ). Watch this space for news of more Swanage gigs and a report of tomorrows concert.

Finally the long-awaited (by Pip at least) record from last summer should finally be pressed with art at the end of the summer. More on that soon.

So the album is currently awaiting production. It is totally finished but we want this one to have a more proffessional feel than the decidedly D.I.Y other releases. Of course this takes money so we are hoping to have a fully finished record by christmas time, complete with artwork and pictures and stuff. Watch this space! In other news Pip is back in Poland with his 'other' band Metanoia and the Coil look set to have their bassist Lou return to the fold when they reform in summer.

15/12/05

Pip will be appearing, tomorrow, at a school culture day to play a few Final Coil songs. the set list will be : Feeble Minds (solo, acoustic), Fallen, Endgame and Popsong (the latter three featuring Tomek from metanoia on bass.) Pip is also working on a new set of Coil tunes with help from Tomek lending a hand on production and bass and Dorota (The Moron) also helping with bass.

Metanoia's forthcoming new CD is still slated to be recorded in February in Kielce. More news as it comes.

Finally, Pip was the subject of a newspaper article in Starachowice last week. The article was a culture piece but also heavily focused on Pip's musical activities in poland - with luck this will lead to more gigs. A translation of the article is being worked on and will be featured here as and when. Happy New year y'all!!!

12/10/05

Pip of Final Coil will be joining his other band Metanoia playing a gig in support of their recent album, entitled 'Breed,Feed,Die', on November 19th in Skarzysco. The band look set to play a selection of tracks including a couple of obligatory Final Coil covers. The Kielce set featured versions of Fallen, Endgame and a solo version of Feeble Minds. The set list remains unconfirmed but it is highly likely that the band will be performing at least one FC song.

In other news the Final Coil album, Endless Lack Of Reason, is still on hold while Pip works to get the record pressed. Pip says:

"It is important that this one is done right; In the past we have always done things in a very homemade way, which is fine, but to be taken seriously we need to package this record suitably. It would not be appropriate to the amount of work that has gone into it to just print off a MS Office cover!!"
